hi guys! for christmas i decide i wanted a winter wonderland in my bedroom and a full-sized tree was #1 on my wish list! i have always wanted one in here, for as long as i can remember. when i saw this beauty from balsam hill, i knew it was the one! i was so happy (and relieved) when i measured and it was a perfect fit for this corner. it's even more beautiful in person and so are these fraser fir garlands! they also had me at hello! they are battery operated, so no cords - woo hoo! the tree and garlands look so real and are so stunning! i wish all of you could come over and see them in person!
the tree was easy to assemble, came with a beautiful bag, tool set, and even two pairs of gloves to fluff the tree and garlands! the gloves made all of the difference. my hands can get easily irritated or sensitive, so i was very thankful for the gloves (so was dominic), and we wondered why we hadn't used gloves for this process before! i honestly have never had an artificial tree packaged so thoughtfully and beautifully.
the christmas tree candles make me so very happy! i mean, ridiculously! they're classic, have color changing led lights, and are remote control operated. i've always wanted a candlelit tree and now i have one! ;) when dominic and i crawl into bed after a long day we turn off the rest of the lights on the tree and leave on these tree candles (and garlands) and it is seriously so magical! i love them! then we can simply use the remote to turn them off. easy peasy!
speaking of crawling into bed, this gorgeous scroll above our bed was created by alyssa from cottonwood shanty! as soon as i saw alyssa's beautiful work on instagram, i wanted a scroll of my own! so i contacted, and commissioned alyssa, to create one with these lyrics - "the weary world rejoices". it's just perfect - a great reminder to myself during this busy season to: stop, remember the reason we celebrate this magical season, and to rejoice! holidays can be extra difficult for those of us who are missing loved ones, but this simple reminder of how jesus humbly came to this earth for all of us is reason for me to rejoice, no matter my circumstances. it's not always easy, but this simple scroll is the sweetest and gentlest reminder and it looks beautiful too! i also chose these lyrics because "o holy night" is dominic's favorite christmas carol. :) alyssa is also offering all of you 10% off of this scroll until monday, december 10th! hooray! get yours by using the code "rejoice" at checkout. (cue happy dance!)
the scrumptious throw blanket is one i've been eyeing forever (also on instagram) from sarah at sarahlou.co! when i began to visualize my bedroom for the holidays, i just knew one of sarah's beautiful wool throws was a must! you guys need to take a look at her gorgeous selection, which includes fabulous faux throws as well!
i also knew i wanted a soft, ivory rug underfoot during these colder months! this fluffy cloud is from home dynamix - it's the carmela rug in the 9'2" x 12'5". i love that i went with a larger area rug in here this time around! it really opens the space and makes getting in and out of bed quite glorious!
mixing textures was something i paid extra attention to, especially since i went with a neutral palette of whites, ivory, and cream. the variety of whites helps to warm the space and add interest too - something to keep in mind for your own winter wonderland. ;)
can i tell you how much i'm loving having a chair and ottoman next to my faux mantel, you guys?!? i was inspired to add more cozy touches in this space when my beautiful balsam hill garland arrived! it's really is a lovely place to cozy up with a good book, my new throw blanket, and that garland makes it extra special. not to mention the view of my magical christmas tree!
i hope you enjoyed my christmas bedroom tour, friends! remember - your bedroom is your sanctuary, the place you should want to go for respite, recharging, and inspiration. make it a beautiful space so that you can easily do those things in yours!
*thank you to balsam hill for partnering with me on this post!
